For decades, silence defined my life. When I finally sought justice, I learned it was too late—the statute of limitations (SOL) had already run out. Those years were marked by broken sleep, hospital stays, and the heavy weight of anger and shame. Yet in the midst of pain, I found something unexpected: connection. 

Searching for answers, I turned to the internet. That search led me to the Enough Abuse website — and to Jetta Bernier, the Executive Director of Enough. Jetta became more than a mentor; she was my ally, my confidant, and my friend. With unwavering strength, she stood by my side as I spoke out for the very first time.

In 2012, with the word ENOUGH written on my palm, I stood at a podium and told my story for the first time. That moment helped spark reform in Massachusetts—leading to a new law that reopened the doors of justice for thousands of survivors, including me. But the work is not finished. Survivors today still need stronger protections. That’s why I’m inviting you to join me in supporting prevention, justice, and healing.

Did You Know?

In Massachusetts, the civil statute of limitations for child sexual abuse has been extended — giving survivors more time to seek justice. Today, survivors can file a civil claim until age 53, or within seven years of discovering the harm caused by the abuse.

When I first came forward in 2012, I didn’t even know this law existed — and by the time I learned of it, my window for justice had already closed. Too many survivors still don’t know their rights, and that knowledge can make all the difference.

But the work is far from over. Survivors today still need stronger protections. That’s why I’m asking you to join me in supporting the Enough Abuse “Prevention Package” — a set of bills designed to stop abuse before it happens, keep children safe in schools and youth organizations, and finally eliminate the Statute of Limitations (SOL) once and for all.

Public Impact

I’ve had the privilege of helping to reform Massachusetts’ statute of limitations laws, giving survivors renewed opportunities to pursue justice.

I’ve shared my story and perspective at press conferences, legislative hearings, and survivor-centered events, and have been featured in national media interviews, investigative programs, and advocacy panels.

Most recently, my story was featured on the Insider Exclusive: Justice in America Network TV Series, highlighting my journey from survivor to advocate and the ongoing fight for justice and prevention.

In my forthcoming memoir, I reflect on that journey—one that embodies both my personal resilience and the collective strength of the survivors and advocates who fought alongside me for change.
